Holiday Crocheting

Festive crocheting. This santa hat was designed for one of my crochet clients and her daughter's horse. It is pictured here on one of my horses. We'll be using it in a Christmas parade next month. And today, it is on a neighbour's stallion for a photo shoot. The stallion will be featured on the front of a magazine, hopefully wearing the santa hat if he'll keep it on.

I always have so many plans for holiday crocheting. However, being the last minute person that I am, I never seem to think about these projects until it's too close to Christmas to get them done - or Easter or whatever. Oh well, maybe some day. I have plans for this unique crocheted Christmas tree. Just haven't got there yet.

This week, I have been busy finishing the doggy tummy tube pattern and another scarf. Watch for those being added to the website shortly. Also, the hand muff is new to the site this past week. So the tummy tube will be added to the site as soon as I can find time to bath my Bichon Frise and make him fluffy for the photo shoot. Might need help in that regard, he's pretty dirty and matted. That's life with a Bichon.

Also starting next week, my patterns will be available at Rose's Fine Yarns in Fonthill, Ontario. The first, non-equine store to carry my patterns. Now to get more stores carrying them. That's a mission.

Well, best run. More crocheting to do and today I also pick up another new horse to add to our herd. Watch for him in upcoming patterns. He's stunning.

Crochet away! We'll talk soon.

Welcome to My Crochet Blog!

Welcome!

Crocheting is such a big part of my life, that I always like to link with others like me. Whether through the internet, bumping into crocheters at the neighbourhood yarn store or on facebook. It's always wonderful chatting with fellow crocheters.

This blog is where I will vent my frustrations on latest projects, give sneak peaks of those projects, and generally just chat crochet. Please feel free to leave me your comments and thoughts and especially if you are looking for a specific pattern - if I don't know where you can find it, I might just design it for you. Like I have for a lady looking for a santa hat for her daughter's horse. That pattern will be on the website soon.

I'm currently revamping the website to make it more user friendly, I've added a discussion forum to the site as well and if that's not your cup of "coffee". Then look up Crochet Do Dads on facebook - become a fan and chat with me to your heart's content.

As far as patterns are concerned - I do many for the horse world as it is also such a big part of my life. Having 11 horses, I teach riding lessons, offer public trail rides and just generally love riding my horse. Visit the farm's website at www.saturnstablesofstcatharines.com if you're so inclined. And with this inaugural welcome, I must get back to my crocheting and then out to the barn for lessons. So please feel free to leave your comments and let's see where this winter of crocheting takes us!
